Microscopes

ALS have many years experience dissecting macro and microlepidoptera, specimen preparation and general microscopy. Jon Clifton has taught microscopy at various universities and museums such as the Liverpool World Museum, York University and the Glasgow Resources Centre. Through this experience we can offer a wide range of professionally built microscopes that we know and work with on a daily basis therefore knowing exactly our customers requirements. We aim not to confuse the market by offering too many models but offer only the ones we feel appropriate for the desired job in mind.

The range we offer start with the popular AJ02 Field Microscope and continue to the mid-range model and tbest selling microscope, the AJ05, one we would recommend beyond any other, the one we have in use has been working on a daily basis for nearly 20 years dissecting macro and microlepidoptera and still out performs similar models. A superb wide field of view and deep depth of field!

The dual illuminated zoom AJ06a gives superb all round quality enabling a x7.5 wide field of view focusing to x45, fast becoming the microscope for any serious student. The quality of 'what you see' is outstanding. Ideal for all round microscopy from botany to micology and for insects to minerals!

The AJ08 come with x40/x100/x400/x1000 high powered compound objective lenses giving excellent quality. These are so called 'viewing' microscopes and not dissecting microscopes. Specifically made to our design they are ideal for photography and viewing minute microscopic ornamentation such as the tiniest of microlepidoptera genitalia, lichens, pollens, etc, etc.
